Selling Your Home During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Cornonavirus and Selling Your Home

I thought long and hard about whether to write a Coronavirus post. I was worried about coming across as feeding the panic and taking advantage of the current situation. What made me decide to write this is that there are Colorado home sellers out there with fears and concerns, and that maybe what we provide could help them in their time of need. I encourage everyone to just pause, breath, and really think before taking any action. If after doing this you’ve decided that you want to sell your home during the Coronavirus pandemic, hopefully this helps.

Potential concerns and how we can help.

1. You’re concerned about catching the Coronavirus when you sell your home.

Selling your house could significantly impact your ability to keep “social distance.” Between the realtor, all the potential buyers coming through, inspections, contractors, and going to the title office, that’s a lot of contact.
Sell My House to Smith can help with all of these issues. We can be as hands on or as virtual as you desire, and can literally complete the entire process without leaving your house. We don’t need inspections or repairs. And we can even send someone to you for the final closing. We are very concerned about your safety, so if we do visit you in your home, we always use hand sanitizer, we don’t shake hands, we keep five feet away, and can even wear a mask if you prefer.

2. You’re worried about potentially falling housing prices because of the Coronavirus.

No one knows how long the Coronavirus will impact the economy. What we do know is that at a minimum we’re experience a short term slow down. Sure we’ve taken a 20% hit in the stock market, but how will that translate to housing prices? Bottom line is no one knows. What we do know is that things are still relatively good. If you’re looking to cash out of your house before things get worse, we can buy your house in as little as a few days. Timing is everything, and we can help you with that.

3. You’re concerned that even if you get a contract on your Colorado house, that your potential buyer will back out due to lost job, recession, inspections, or just fear of what might happen with the Coronavirus.

Regular home buyers back out of contracts all the time. The earnest money they put up is almost worthless, as they can get it back for almost any reason. A lot can happen in the 30 to 60 days from contract to closing. When you contract with Sell My House to Smith, we have the ability to provide you a 100% guarantee that we will close on your house. If you want the certainty of knowing your house can close, we can give that to you.

I’m sure there are a hundred other things that home sellers could be worried about with the Coronavirus, and I couldn’t hope to cover them all. What I wanted to do was cover some of the most common concerns, and to let you know that whatever your problem, it’s likely we can solve it. Don’t panic! Don’t do anything you’ll regret. Think over your situation. If you still feel you need to sell your home, give us a call at 719-629-7740.
